Maaan!! I remember being in High School and listening to X-Clan! Vanglorious! I remember seeing this HOT young lady in the back of their videos and wondering who she was? Then, they put out Isis and guess who was on the mic? Female emcees didn’t just have to rhyme stories or show a pretty face in the male-dominated genre. Now, they were spittin’ hard and showing Black empowerment. Her album damn near broke I played it so much. Thank God for MP3s nowadays ’cause she’s still rhymin’.
