Before Covergirl ads, Oscar nominations, and singing with crooning legends, New Jersey’s own Queen Latifah used to beat the mic up! She’s stand up for the ladies empowering young females coming up with songs like “Ladies First” with Monie Love. While doing work with The Flavor Unit a bunch of years back, I got to see her in action with her compilation group, The Unit shooting their video, “100% Hater Proof”. She’s singing now and selling more records so I can’t get mad….but kinda miss her rockin’ the mic.
