Merry Christmas from The Zodiac

Posted by The Zodiac | Blog | Saturday 25 December 2010 12:18 pm

Hey world.¬¨‚Ć I hope you’re enjoying today and celebrating with your loved ones.¬¨‚Ć And if you’re alone, I hope your spirit is filled with joy and you’re at one with yourself and embraced by loved ones through phones, emails, and well-wishes.¬¨‚Ć Make this Christmas count because you’re not promised another one.¬¨‚Ć Ring in the this next week and open your arms to 2011!¬¨‚Ć We’re gonna keep the movement in the correct direction by delivering art in the form of our own born creations becoming Gods to our own rights.

Remember the reason this day (and the commercialization man created for it) even exists.¬¨‚Ć I’m not a religious person, but I can respect exactly why this time is celebrated across the planet.¬¨‚Ć Merry Christmas!

Roselyn Sanchez

Name: Roselyn Sanchez

Status: Boriqua Madness!

Occupation: Actress

Why?:I should ask “Why NOT?” This woman has been on my “to do” list for years! Is it possible to get any sexier than Roselyn Sanchez? It doesn’t matter where you see her or what she does. She’s not the best actress in the world but those freakin’ almond-shaped eyes, long brown hair, cheekbones, and slender build will make you say “I could give a shit about her acting…just hire her!” I guess that’s what they did when they had her on Without A Trace ’cause her accent and good looks overshadowed anything else she had to offer. Sorry Roselyn.

But she also comes off as a cool-ass chick and to have her on your arm would make your penis envious. Ha! “Penis envy”. Anyway, Roselyn has always been on my top 5 starting team and 20 years from today, she’ll probably still be in the top 10. Fuck it! I love her. 🙂

Sofia Vergara

Name: Sofia Vergara

Status: Muy Caliente

Occupation: Actress

Why?: I wanna meet the guy out there who wouldn’t give Sofia Vergara a double-dose of slam-hammering if he had 1/10th the chance. Who in the holy HELL out there, male or female, wouldn’t sell their cousin for a sniff of this woman’s nipple? I swear, she’s hot from the ground up and now that she has been running around with her dark hair, she’s unstoppable.

I have been drooling over Sofia since she was on the Spanish channel. And I don’t even speak the language very well. Her eyes, accent, and sex appeal would cause the Pope to stain his robe during a sermon. Yeah…it’s THAT serious! Just look at that damn photo. And if not, check her out on ABC’s Modern Family and your lower half will spit. Simply a bad-ass woman!! I’d give her twins. Hulk smash, baby. Hulk smash!

“Sleeping Giants Are Destroying The Place” Explained…

Posted by The Zodiac | Verbal Expression | Monday 20 December 2010 12:13 am

This song which will be featured on Zetacide Vol. 4 in the future was created from scratch, as were 95% of the Zetacide songs.  The inspiration of this particular track is interesting, though.  A Facebook friend from Melbourne, Australia actually was the cause of this song.  It begins like this:

A very attractive woman from Down Under by the name of Kamini decided to do something crazy…she signed up for a boxing match against an opponent whom she suspected may kick her ass! ¬¨‚ĆSomething in her got the idea to start training hard enough to take on this woman for this event. ¬¨‚ĆAfter reading her updates on Facebook and seeing how serious she was, I was intrigued to the point where I wondered to myself: ¬¨‚ĆWhat would Kamini’s theme music sound like? ¬¨‚ĆAnd then it began…

I thought of Kamini in a Rocky Balboa type of setting with a robe on entering the ring and something kind of intimidating. ¬¨‚ĆYeah, it sounds crazy, but my mind is very visual so I began with a slower BPM as opposed to a faster one and started with the Rocky-inspired horns first. ¬¨‚ĆThat’s where it got crazy and I began adding the bassline to it so it had a depth. The Buhm-buhm-buhm of the horns along with the switching of the bass needed something extra so I added another level of higher horns to the track. ¬¨‚ĆIt began to take shape.

Thinking of this very pretty woman stomping down to the ring to beat this opponent’s ass was cracking me up but it brought in the switch up and added the singing voices to it as if she was raising above the rest. ¬¨‚ĆNo joke! ¬¨‚ĆWhen it was time to add the lyrics, I took that intimidation level higher and thought of the under-dog; the guy you didn’t think could rise above it. ¬¨‚ĆThat’s where the title came from: ¬¨‚ĆSleeping Giants Are Destroying The Place.

If it weren’t for Kamini fighting in this match (which didn’t happen unfortunately due to a cancellation), who knows what the song that week would’ve been.

Crap-load of updates!

Posted by The Zodiac | Blog | Saturday 18 December 2010 6:57 am

I’ve been up all night working on the Zodiac site installing this and editing that to give it a better and wider feel. ¬¨‚ĆEspecially since I want to invite more people over to check things out and sign up and share. ¬¨‚ĆSince I want musicians to come through and network a bit, I’ve updated ZodiacUniversity.com to point to the Social Networking section of the site. ¬¨‚ĆIt’s still being worked on at the moment but is currently available for sign-ups.

Also, you can sign up using your Facebook account. ¬¨‚ĆYeah, I used the Facebook API to make it easier for people to get involved. ¬¨‚ĆThis will be useful for when I round up my FB fam and get them over to the site for collabs and such. ¬¨‚ĆNo need to sign up with a new user/pass…just use your FB info and you’re in. ¬¨‚ĆIt’s that easy.

I also put up some icons on the left for easy access to The Zodiac networking system. ¬¨‚ĆClick those if you want to view other sites I’m featured. ¬¨‚ĆThis is just a simpler way to get access to good music.

Also, my blog postings are also posted automatically to my Facebook Wall. ¬¨‚ĆSo, no more copy/pasting for me. ¬¨‚ĆIt’ll post up the necessary links for you to click and move over here. ¬¨‚Ć ¬¨‚ĆOther than that, just some font changes, edits in the header, and other crap that makes the site worth your while.

Stay tuned for new posts and info coming soon.

Zetacide Project (52 Songs/52 Weeks)

Posted by The Zodiac | Blog | Sunday 5 December 2010 12:04 am

Sure, it’s been done before. You’ll see a bunch of people out there on the ‘net who have challenged themselves to be creative by recording 52 songs in 52 weeks. What makes me different than most is that I did it in hip-hop…rap form. And to add more to it, I produced all but 3 of the songs. So, imagine…knowing each Saturday that you have to record a song within the next 4 days (I always needed to post by Wednesday at the latest) and had no idea what topic or track you wanted to spit on.

It was definitely a project that was challenging but one of the most fun that I’ve accomplished. To keep that pace for a year is something I’m proud of and the result produced The Zetacides. Volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4. What started out on my mother’s birthday of December 7th, 2009 has ended on December 1, 2010.
